About Kinbranch
Kinbranch is a small, independent tool for drawing, sharing and printing family trees. It was built for the moment most families actually need: a reunion, a school project, a memorial, a gift for grandparents — when you want a beautiful, correct tree quickly, without signing up for a research platform.
How it works
- The editor runs in your browser. Your tree is saved on your device (local storage) as you type.
- The layout engine places generations in rows, partners side by side and children under their parents.
- GEDCOM files are read and written in your browser following the GEDCOM 5.5.1 standard, so trees move to and from Ancestry, FamilySearch, MyHeritage, Gramps, RootsMagic and others.
- Free share links pack the tree into the link itself (compressed), so nothing is stored on our servers.
- Family Plus links are stored privately under a random address; only people with the edit link can change them.
- Posters are generated as vector PDFs in your browser, so they print sharp at any size.
What it is not
Kinbranch does not search historical records or DNA. Use it alongside research sites: export GEDCOM from them, import it here, and make the chart your family will actually look at.
Only at this website. Kinbranch is not affiliated with FamilySearch, Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilyEcho or any genealogy company.
